Is it easier to try to guess who and what could have killed someone from the dozens of weapons lying around or to know what did it and how the killer got the weapon in the first place?

Don't flatter yourself. I said nobody should be doing that—as in, people who aren't you, too. I was making the same point I am now. A deterrent is a defense. [just. more aggressively]
